- 중국국유기업인 중국화공과 신젠타간 인수합병에 대해 승인이 이어지고 있다. 중국 상무부는 4월 12일자로 인수합병을 승인했으며 그 이틀 전에는 멕시코 연방경제력위원회로부터 승인을 받았다. 농약 시장에서의 경쟁력 축소 우려로 합병 승인을 우려했던 유럽집행위원회 역시 최근 이들 간의 합병을 승인했다.2016년 2월에 처음으로 인수합병이 거론되었으며 2016말까지 협상이 완료될 것으로 기대했다.하지만 여러 국가로부터의 승인을 받아야 하는 문제에 직면해왔다. 출처: World Grain, 4/13

17/18 시즌 브라질 옥수수 파종 및 생산량 감소 예상

- 올해 최고 실적을 거둔 브라질의 옥수수 생산량이 내년에는 급격히 줄어들 것으로 예상된다. 낮은 가격 탓에 농가에서는 옥수수 파종을 줄일 것으로 예상된다. 2016/17년에는 국내 가격 상승으로 옥수수 파종이 늘어났으며 기말 재고량이 70% 가까이 늘어 가격은 하락하고 있다.세계 옥수수 공급 과잉으로 옥수수 가격은 정부 책정 최저 가격 이하로 떨어질 것으로 보고 있다. 수출량은 2백만 톤 줄어든 28.0백만 톤에 이를 것으로 예상된다. 옥수수 소비는 59.0백만 톤까지 증가해 기말 재고는 2.0백만 톤 줄어든 9.14백만 톤에 이를 것으로 예상된다. 출처: Agrimoney, 4/13
